On being single:

I’d always been the kind of girl who really loves being in a relationship – I don’t think I’ve been properly single since I was 17 – so it’s always where I’ve felt at my best. But this time it’s different. I’m single and all of my friends are with someone, and that’s never happened before … It’s really nice to sit up at night and read a book, or knit – I love knitting! … I even love sitting there and sometimes being a bit bored, because it makes me appreciate the times when I do do things with my friends … I definitely want to incorporate this new ‘me’ into my next relationship, where you still do things by yourself.

On dating:

Dating is a funny one. I’ve never sought love out. I’m a big believer that women should just live their lives and if it happens, it happens.

On getting married again:

I don’t know. Who knows who I’ll end up with, and if marriage would even be important to them. I dreamt of the fairy-tale love story – but not so much of the wedding. I never pictured the type of dress I’d wear. For me, it was more about finding the man I was going to have children with. I didn’t think I’d be looking for more than one, though!
