WWE NXT: Kassius Ohno confronts Bobby Roode; Brit Pete Dunne wins

Posted February 25, 2017

Finn Balor has been absent from WWE since late August.

The NXT promotion is where Balor made his name prior to his move to the Monday Night Raw roster.

Crowned as the first WWE Universal Champion at SummerSlam, Balor, 35, relinquished his belt the following night after suffering a nasty shoulder injury.

It's not likely that Balor is going to wind up back in NXT anytime soon, but one thing is clear: he's still not medically cleared to get back in the ring.

The Demon King returned to the ring to help Shinsuke Nakamura fight off the NXT Champion Bobby Roode, and Andrade Almas.

They double teamed the former NXT Champion; that was until Balor emerged to a ridiculous ovation and as you'll be able to see in the video below, he took out both men before Nakamura hit the Kinshasa on Roode. He quickly established a dominant presence in NXT, defeating Owens for the NXT Championship. But fans are hoping that he would reintegrate smoothly and successfully to the WWE programming as one of the most marketable stars at the main-event level once he returns. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Balor has always been scheduled for WrestleMania 33 but there's no word yet on what his role will be. Though no matches have even been rumored for him at this point, it is expected that he'll be ready to go for the biggest show of the year.
