Spurs relishing chase of Chelsea

Middlesbrough have now gone 14 Premier League games without a win.

Crystal Palace breathed new life into a title race that appeared to be foregone conclusion before their unexpected win at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

"The message for us is to keep pushing and win games, that is our job".

Son Heung-min's brace capped a swashbuckling 4-0 win over Watford at a buoyant White Hart Lane, with Spurs moving four points behind Chelsea in second before Antonio Conte's men take on Bournemouth in Saturday's late kick-off.

There was no luck about their second goal, however, with Hazard, one of the Premier League's outstanding attacking players, collecting N'Golo Kante's pass with a superb touch before searing past Artur Boruc and finishing from an angle.

Harry Kane is back in full training for Spurs and could make his return to action against Watford but Hugo Lloris is absent again.

Red-hot Tottenham Hotspur need to keep red-hot if they're going to open up a gap on the teams behind them in the Premier League table and start trying to close the gap on Chelsea, and to do that they'll need to beat every team in front of them. Watford's defence were struggling to deal with the quality of Spurs' offensive threats.

"Watford started with good energy, massive motivation to play against us, and to be patient was one of the keys". They've won 10 straight there as part of an unbeaten home run this campaign, and during those 10 most recent matches they've scored 29 goals (including seven in the three so far without Harry Kane).

Son was involved once more in the 39th minute when his deflected cross fell kindly for Dier to venomously rifle home from the edge of the area, and the South Korea winger got in on the act to effectively end the contest before half-time. "Sign him up", the Watford supporters chanted for Niang through the first half.

"I think we will be more strong and today we are more strong with him [Kane] healthy and ready to fight again on the team".

"It was important for us to win after many days without a win", he said. But it was really hard after the three goals, that cut our legs.

"Mazzarri spoke in English in public for the first time earlier this week, and then added without the use of a translator: "(Tottenham) have top players on the pitch, and top players on the bench".

Spurs, who have now won their last six league games in a row, next face the Cherries at home next Saturday lunchtime.

And it should have been 5-0 on 81 minutes when Kane unselfishly teed up Son just inside the box, but his hopes of a hat-trick were dashed as his sidefooted effort went wide of the post.
