Bulls, Pacers grab last 2 spots in NBA playoffs

Chicago defeats Brooklyn 112-73.

It's three teams - Indiana, Chicago and Miami - for the last two spots in the East field. At evening's end, all three had won. The Pacers now sit in 7th place, one game ahead of the Bull and Heat.

"We believed in magic; we believed in karma", Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said. "My job is to prepare my team for tonight".

With the loss, Brooklyn finishes 20-62 on the season. The Boston Celtics continue to rely heavily on Thomas to win games and play in a lot of close games because of the lack of scoring options.

Chicago's Dwyane Wade recently returned from an elbow injury that sidelined him for a month, and even at the age of 35 should provide a boost for the Bulls. The Nets didn't get that memo.

The Nets announced Trevor Booker, Jeremy Lin and Brook Lopez will sit out due to rest, while injuries will sideline Quincy Acy (ankle), Joe Harris (shoulder) and Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring).

Atkinson was quite sketchy in explaining the weird move. We expect Johnson to take advantage of this matchup and size advantage. "Really. That's it in a vacuum", he said during his pregame chat with media. At NetsDaily, we'd like to wish her all the best in her future endeavors and thank her for bringing kindness and professionalism to the Nets organization. Are the Spurs going to sit players if they know they have a bye on the line? "We're not the team to overlook anybody". "It's a great opportunity for them, a great playoff-type atmosphere". Gar/Pax coming up to the podium saying that the season was successful and that the Chicago Bulls are only a couple of pieces away from making a real run.

The Bulls outrebounded the Celtics by double digits in three of their four meetings during the regular season.

"We started to figure out who we were, what was going to be our recipe for success, and what are the principles?" "It's kinda in the same vein I'm telling you: how valuable he is to the franchise".

"It's not like I'm resting". "I think we're good". "I don't know if I've ever wanted something more for a team". "There's a reason there's 15 men on a roster". Archie Goodwin, Justin Hamilton, Spencer Dinwiddie, K.J. McDaniels, Caris LeVert, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Isaiah Whitehead and Andrew Nicholson got a lot of minutes against the Bulls.

Except, this time it can have a huge impact on the rest of the league.

Hoiberg was asked if this affects the integrity of the game. "I'm happy with that, with this team right now", Wade said. "I do understand it".

"It'll be interesting to see what the owners do". They lead by five after the first quarter, but the Heat took over in the middle of the second quarter and never took their foot off the gas. Did the Bulls pay them off? The Nets were outscored by 20 points in the final quarter and shot under 10 percent from long range in the game.

The Celtics almost stole one in Chicago just before the All-Star break, but a controversial foul call on Marcus Smart put Jimmy Butler at the free throw line with 0.9 seconds left.
